How to stay safe on social media

Our team regularly takes steps to increase trust and security in the NFTsky space!

We want every user to feel confident communicating with us on all of our social networks. However, security does not depend only on us. The main rule is to stay vigilant and protect yourself on Discord and other third party community platforms for every user.

How to stay safe on Discord?

On our Discord server, you can hang out and discuss the latest NFT trends with your fellow community members!

When engaging and asking questions to the wider community on Discord, always be careful. The official NFTsky moderator on Discord is identified as "admin"

And for official support, please contact our support team at info@nftsky.com

As a general reminder, the NFTsky team will NEVER:

Ask for your crypto wallet phrase.

Ask to see the QR code of your crypto wallet.

Ask you to sign any message with your wallet, or send you a link that asks you to sign a message with your wallet. Ask you to scan the QR code to verify the collection or for technical support

If you receive one of the requests listed above, this is probably a suspicious request. Please report the sender on Discord.

Best Security Tips:

Don't Click on Unfamiliar Links or Download Unknown Files

Whether on Discord or elsewhere, avoid clicking on unfamiliar links and downloading files as they may have malicious scripts that will compromise your account (or whatever even worse, your device). Be very suspicious of any request that requires you to install or run some kind of program. Even something as simple as bookmarking can put your Discord account at risk.

Use Two-Factor Timestamp Authentication (2FA)

Discord offers SMS as a 2FA method. However, getting 2FA via SMS is a possible risk vector if your phone's SIM has been compromised. Your best bet is to use the timestamp based 2FA method with apps like Google Authenticator. You can toggle this in your Discord settings.

Multiple Accounts and Devices

Discord recently released a new feature that allows you to manage multiple Discord accounts on a single device. If you are a member of various web3 communities, using dedicated accounts for specific servers is an effective way to mitigate risk. Another step is to use a dedicated device for Discord. For example, you can install Discord on an old smartphone and log into your Discord account through a browser.

You can now manage multiple accounts on Discord. Right click on your profile photo to switch accounts.

What should I do if I have been hacked?

If your Discord account has been affected, contact Discord and create a new account.

If you think you may have clicked on a link to a malicious website or scanned a malicious QR code, we recommend installing a new wallet and moving your items to it as soon as possible.
